World-Class Specialists to serve as the 2024 Official Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Partner
LOS ANGELES – Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of sports-related injuries and illnesses, today announced a new partnership with the California Pickleball Association (CAPA) as the 2024 Official Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Partner of this year’s tournaments .
Pickleball is now the fastest growing recreational sport in the US having grown at nearly 160% over the last 3 years and projected to grow at an annual rate of 7.7% through 2028 and boasting 40+ million participants in the U.S. Along with the rapid growth, comes a significant number of injuries, according to a UBS analysis, estimating that pickleball could contribute millions in healthcare costs in 2023, tens of thousands of ER and outpatient visits and thousands of surgeries. All directly linked to pickleball-related injuries.
As part of this exclusive partnership, Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute will support and promote CAPA events and offer athletes access to world-class orthopaedic care and sports medicine services. The Institute’s team of experienced physicians and healthcare professionals will work closely with the CAPA to develop injury prevention programs, provide education on sports-related injuries, and make available personalized care to pickleball athletes.
